Family weddings at home are right up at the top of my list of weddings to photograph.  They just seem more personal and everyone seems more relaxed somehow.  Olivia & Phil’s wedding, held at Livvy’s family home is the perfect example of that.  A fantastic couple with equally gregarious family and friends!

My only disappointment on the day was when I found out that the Church’s benefice had ruled that absolutely no photography was allowed whatsoever during the wedding ceremony.  The church had been decorated fantastically with the most sumptuous flower arrangements on every pillar and even trees had been brought inside, to great effect!  I was truly gutted.  Fortunately, however, I was able to gently negotiate that I could leave my camera on the floor, just in front of the font at the rear, during the ceremony.  With a cunning remote control app, I was able to operate the camera from my iPhone and capture a few pertinent points, albeit from one angle.  I was also given permission to photograph the actual signing of the register (you’re not always allowed to do this), so that was a bonus too!  All in all, it meant that the story was told and the Church was kept happy – just how I like it!

“Ed,

What can we say?!  Thank you for the most stunning photos of our ‘Big Day’!  We cannot stop looking though each of them and reliving every moment.

You have managed to capture the day exactly how we hoped for and you have made it feel like we are right back celebrating again with every photo you took.

It was such a relief on the day to have not only someone who made us feel so at ease, but also someone who just blended in and never seemed to be intruding at any time during such a personal celebration .  A real talent I can tell you!!

The photos are just perfect and we cannot thank you enough!

Livvy and Phil”
