Caroline & Stephen | Combermere Abbey | Shropshire

Every now and then you get that phone call – someone who really really wants to book you…  Last year Caroline & Stephen met me at the National Wedding Show and shortly afterwards they were in touch, very keen to book. I really got the vibe of, “Hey, these guys really know what I’m about” and as such I was really looking forward to documenting their wedding.

A week or two before their marriage, the wedding venue had to be urgently changed, due to a major blaze which devastated a wing of their chosen venue, Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. What a stressful week that must have been – having to reorganise and co-ordinate all of your plans, guests, suppliers and goodness knows what else! However on the day, you would have never known as they seemingly took it all in their stride.

Their subsequent venue of choice happened to be the delightful Combermere Abbey in Shropshire and we were even spoiled with a very rare outdoor wedding in the UK! My favourite photos are below, please as ever leave your thoughts and comments. Here are Caroline & Stephen’s:

“Wow! The pictures are amazing, each and every one of them is fabulous! Your unobtrusive style suited our wedding perfectly and you put everyone at ease. Thanks again for making the journey up to Cheshire for us!”

I feel the above photo needs explaining…. This photo was taken shortly after Stephen had launched his glass of red wine all over the dance floor and my shoes, narrowly missing Caroline’s stunning dress (minutes after his previous spillage of red wine had been removed from the very same dress). Needless to say after posing for the above (and in the process spilling the rest of the glass) Stephen moved on to a lighter colour beverage! I had considered editing out the glass for fun, but I felt that this didn’t portray the story involved (and may have been a bit on the dark side for my blog!)
