As a former Army Officer myself I really appreciate it when I am asked to photograph military weddings and I have photographed many of them! I particularly like it when the weddings are held at the Royal Military Academy (RMA Sandhurst or RMAS). It brings back many memories, especially when we take to the steps of Old College for some formal photographs! It is an extraordinary place to be married and it is an option only available to serving and retired Officers. This is the third wedding I have photographed at the Royal Memorial Chapel, Sandhurst in the last year and I have another two there this month! Receptions can also be held at Sandhurst and can be arranged through the Sandhurst Foundation, although Alison & Chris decided to have their reception at the fabulous Pennyhill Park Hotel just down the road.
I asked for a testimonial from them after they saw their photographs, which you can read at the end of this blog post. But first – below are my favourites from their day. My absolute favourite is the first kiss, when I noticed the Padre “shield” his eyes at the key moment it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss – very amusing!
TESTIMONIAL FROM ALISON & CHRIS:
“Ed was fantastic. I met him at a wedding fayre and immediately liked the style of his photos and the quality of his albums. He was friendly and professional throughout the organisation. On the day he had a way of keeping everyone relaxed and managed to get the photos that we wanted quickly and without being intrusive. My mum even commented that she didn’t know where he had gone in the church and was surprised by all of the different shots that he achieved. Our favourite photos are the candid snaps that he caught when we weren’t even paying attention. Overall Ed was the perfect choice for us. We are really happy with all of the photos and we can’t wait to receive our album. I wouldn’t hesitate to reccommend him. Thank you Ed!”
