A pre-wedding shoot at Dovecliff Hall Hotel, in preparation for the wedding of Jon and Sarah who will be getting married there this December.
As a documentary wedding photographer – the majority (about 90%) of my work is informal – capturing events as they unfold. Â So when clients ask me about pre-wedding shoots my response is to say that they are not necessarily required but can be arranged if so desired. Â Why do I say this? Â Because there is not really a requirement to practise “being yourself” which is what I am there to capture!
My clients tend to book me because of my informal style of photography – so they are rarely concerned about posing for photos – that said some people can be quite fearful of the inevitable posed or group photographs. Â Jon was a little bit worried about this very thing – posing for the camera – so we had a quick photo shoot in the grounds of the venue. Â Funnily enough, it turns out Jon is actually very photogenic, so I have no idea why he was worried at all! Â As I explained (and Jon expertly demonstrated), the trick is to think of something funny and quite simply laugh or chuckle – the results can be seen below.
Jon & Sarah are a lovely couple and I can’t wait to document their wedding at the end of the year.
